Description

Lily Of The Valley is a perennial plant native to Europe and Asia.   It is also widely cultivated in the United States and Canada.   The slender creeping stem grows to 12 inches, producing two pointed leaves, and white, bell shaped, fragrant flowers that bloom throughout the summer.

Lily Of The Valley is a valuable heart remedy.   It is good for heart failure, water retention, and difficulty in breathing.   Make into an ointment and use for headaches, rheumatic pain or gout pain.

History

Russian peasants have long employed Lily of the Valley for dropsy.   Special virtues were once believed to be possessed by water distilled from the flowers, known as Golden Water.   Historically it was used for dropsy, sprains, and weak mind.
